If your Bubbie was anything like mine, she most likely used Telma soup bouillon as a base for many of her hemishe dishes. I think of it as a yiddeshe tam (taste) and it brings back pleasant childhood memories. Of course it would go without saying that I was elated to find a vintage Israeli ad for Telma, giving me an awesome look at the past and evoking memories of my Bubbie's kitchen. I was even more elated to find a guide to keeping kosher that was published by Dannon (the yogurt folks), back when it was kosher certified in the late 80's-mid 90's. The thin booklet, entitled 'Dinim by Dannon' (Laws by Dannon) contains a brief, but thorough, explanation of procedures with regards to kosher law. Its an awesome find and a great look at the kosher past. It really amazes me that Dannon made such a booklet.
